It is with pleasure that I accepted to step in as interim Vice-Principal for Secondary 1 at Laval Junior Academy, joining an already powerful leadership team.
Having sent all 3 of my own children to LJA, I am well-versed in the academic, cultural, and extra-curricular opportunities offered to all students at our school. We are a caring, supportive team, like an extended family that strives to make each child achieve their full potential. Laval Junior Academy is a place where students will feel comfortable and welcome, and we endeavour each day to ensure their journey here with us leaves them not only with positive memories, but with tools to empower their future learning.
My door is always open to students, staff, and parents alike. Come say hello; I’d love to hear from you.
Sunday Skoufaras, M.A. Educational Studies
I’ve been passionate about the teaching profession for as long as I can remember. I’ve worked with children for the past 25 years and wish to do so for many more to come. I’ve been a part of the Laval Junior family since 2005. I’ve always strived to teach beyond in the curriculum because life lessons go past the books. I strongly believe those are just as important and valuable to their learning process as are academics.
Being interim vice-principal provides me with an opportunity to reach students on a larger scale, not only as a disciplinarian but as a mentor. While I try to build relationships with each individual student, I try to offer them a safe place to seek advice and help, and to guide them through the obstacles of teenage life.
Inspiring them to become the best version of who they are is important to me; to leave a positive footprint in their lives is my priority and my goal. “Respect and be respected” & “Don’t make excuses, make an effort” are my mottos; they’re what I preach and what I live by.
