Arts Concentration

Arts Concentration Program

The Art Concentration Program expands on the material taught in the regular Visual Arts Course. The curriculum explores different mediums in addition to those accessible in the regular program. This is geared towards students who have a strong interest in the arts and provides students with an opportunity to develop their personal visions through their creativity.   Students create their own identity through their artwork and learn artistic techniques through the various elements of art. Students learn to appreciate different art styles from around the world and learn to use art as a form of expression.  In doing so, students understand and use the principles of design to develop their creativity. Also, throughout the year, students participate in enriching activities, such as field trips to art galleries and museums. Students also take part in hands-on workshops and large-scale projects (such as the creation of painted murals and ceramic mosaics) hosted by professional artists visiting our school.
